Aslan gets a face-lift

Volunteering at the Priory could never be described as ‘dull’. From welcoming to coffee making, to flower arranging and lion maintenance, there’s something for everyone.

It must be admitted, though, that lion maintenance is one of the less regular volunteering opportunities…but Aslan’s looking so much better for it.

Ever popular with younger and older visitors alike, Aslan sits by the east door, with a sign explaining why he’s there. For, if you go into the wardrobe-like porch that surrounds the east door and peep through the keyhole, you’ll see a real, functioning gas lamp, perfectly framed in your view.

Narnia? Quite possibly, as CS Lewis lived in Malvern, briefly, as a boarder at Malvern College. The true location of Narnia hasn’t been pinned down…but the Priory is certainly a strong contender. Why don’t you come and peep through the keyhole yourself?

The Priory’s fully open to visitors from 9am-4.45pm now the Nave floor project has finished. Just check What’s On and the Calendar in case there are any services or activities when you plan to visit.

Aslan looks forward to welcoming you soon!
