A Priory Wedding Story

‘From the moment Dan and I were engaged, I knew I wanted a church wedding. Dan proposed on the Malvern Hills, so it only seemed fitting that we marry in Malvern!

I remember admiring Great Malvern Priory and only being able to wish that we could get married somewhere so beautiful.
I decided to email the church secretary and pop the question (no pun intended). We got a reply fairly soon after, much to my delight, saying that we could marry at the Priory so long as we formed a connection with the church as we did not live in the local parish. We then provisionally booked a date, and arranged to meet with Reverend Rod Corke.

Our meeting with Rod was wonderful, he put our minds completely at ease and was very clear in explaining the way things had to happen.

He explained that we had to attend the Priory six times in the build up to the wedding in order to establish our connection.

Dan and I set off continuing to plan our big day, and attended church on Sundays. Our banns were read on three occasions, which was really lovely to hear.

As our big day drew closer, the congregation prayed for us and we were showered with love and wellwishes.

Our wedding day was everything we could have hoped for and more. The Priory was glorious, Rod delivered our service beautifully and our marriage vows were made in the presence of God.

I would whole-heartedly encourage anyone who is considering a church wedding to go for it!’
