A weekly update from Rod, the Vicar…

Sunday 12th May, 7th Sunday of Easter (Sunday after Ascension)

Dear Friends,

Welcome to the Priory on the Sunday after the Ascension. Thank you for coming today. If you are visiting, you are among friends and fellow pilgrims, and we are so glad that you have come to join us.

Today is Altogether Worship, and we are continuing with the theme of Ascension leading on to Pentecost next week. On Thursday, the morning was beautiful for our annual trip up the tower for the Ascension Service. Later, we worshipped again, this time led by Marje, who was celebrating the 30th anniversary of the ordination of women and her priesting. It was an extraordinary time, and we are so fortunate to have Marje in our ministry team.

Dylan, with his ‘signature’ cleaning, has made the custos/clergy vestry look much tidier. He's now gearing up to welcome ‘Dylan’s Cleaning Angels’ for a Priory Spring Clean on 18th May. We invite you to join this community effort. All you need to bring is your enthusiasm and a little elbow grease! We'll start after Morning Prayer at 9:30am.

From early July, the collection plate will be passed around in the main morning service and brought up at the 8:00am service. Hopefully, this will encourage folk to give to the ministry here at the Priory. If you don’t have cash, card machines are available, and if you pay by standing order, green tokens can be used to represent your donation. We appreciate every penny given. Thank you!

I know how many of you appreciate the large print service booklets. We are about to begin printing some more, so we shouldn’t run out quite as often. Watch this space!

Every blessing, Rod
