A craftsman returns

We were delighted to welcome back Ken Milloy to the 10.30am service on Easter Day.

Ken was one of the team of craftsmen from Reynolds Conservation Ltd, who laid the wonderful new Nave floor, doing both a fantastic job and getting it completed in time for the congregation to return ‘home’ for worship on Easter Day.

At communion, regulars could be seen carefully navigating the join between the seating area and the aisles and then realising, with a smile, that there was no longer anything to fall off or trip up! A life-changing experience for everyone.

And Ken had returned, accompanied by his wife, to see his handiwork in use. Rod, the vicar, introduced him before the service, asking him to stand for a round of applause. After the service he was surrounded by appreciative members of the congregation. He was also introduced to some of the ‘Benedictine Bakers’ who had provided the workers with two cakes a week to make their tea breaks more enjoyable.

A heartfelt ’thank you’ to all the workers and to all the donors who made this wonderful project possible.
