Lifepath 2025
The Priory Lifepath Correspondent reflects on her first year leading the joyful outpouring that is ‘Lifepath’
’Every single person, every role, is vital to the success of Lifepath; there have been nerves at starting a new role, laughter, a few tears, silliness, dancing, singing, music, bells ringing out, building works, gasps as the leeches slowly slither, desperate to find a way out, the smell of pottage in the air, colouring, paper cutting, hours of preparation completed in the weeks/months prior to Lifepath, the squeak of the wheelbarrow along the new nave floor, the logistics of the sun, earth and moon trying to negotiate the choir vestry, the bowing of heads as mini monks wander silently around the aisles of the Priory, the hissing sound of the urn boiling for the cups of tea, over 50 pints of milk drunk, mopping up sick, bumped heads, stone clattering onto the tiled floor - nervous teachers wondering if the tiles have been chipped, hugs given, history of the Priory explored, the Lifepath wiggle, children chattering and giggling as they high-five the puppets, water being sprayed at anyone in its way, over 100 toilet rolls used, the welcomed visitors, the dogs excitedly investigating new people, the astonishing amount of different types of trees/wood known by the children, new friendships made, old friendships renewed, the silence of the early morning as the first few people arrive, biscuits and cakes gratefully received, time keeping gone array and lastly the silent prayers and spoken prayers given to God.
What a testament to you all, thank you.’
